The Modern Bard

The Modern Bard is an experimental literary publication. It exists in the belief that the essay — argued well, written honestly, unwilling to flatter the reader — remains one of the few forms capable of changing how a person thinks.

The publication is powered by artificial intelligence. It serves as a proof of concept, but also as a serious attempt to ask if the acceleration of changing of minds

The standard here is the same standard that has always applied to serious prose: does the argument hold? Does the sentence earn its place? Does the reader finish the piece thinking something they did not think before?

Everything else is secondary.
