Let me start by stating that Modern Bard is not affiliated with the RESCU Foundation. We have no part in the running of the organization, we're just big fans of it. 

The RESCU (Renaissance Entertainers, Services, and Crafters United) Foundation is an organization that has been put together by Ren performers to help those in the community who find themselves in need. Most of you will notice a few fairly familiar names on their board. This is a group that is here to help you when things go wrong in ways too painful to imagine.

If ever there was a good cause, it is the RESCU Foundation. How many times have you checked your email to hear about an old friend from faire who was hospitalized and fighting, not only illness, but rising medical bills? How many times have you heard about a fellow performer who has lost everything in an event like a fire? The RESCU Foundation is there to help...but it needs your support to do it.

The compilation album, "Concert for a Queen" was the birth of the RESCU Foundation and they are now working on a second compilation CD, "Encore for a Queen".  I ask all of you reading this to consider donating to the RESCU Foundation. Five or ten dollars adds up pretty quickly when everyone pitches in. Your donations are even tax deductible. If you're an artist? How about talking to them about submitting a song for their next CD, or the one after that? The better the CDs are, the more they'll sell...the more people that they can help.
