Recording News - Bounding Main is joined by Bantry   
     Bay at The Coffee House in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
     on Saturday, October 29, 2005.

     "We're recording audience participation songs for our     
     next CD, "Lost at Sea". This is Bounding Main's first
     show at this venerable venue and we want to show     
     them our fans are tops! Please come out to fill the
     house  with us."

     The Coffee House is at 631 N. 19th Street (at     
     Wisconsin Ave.), Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The doors open      at 7:30 and the music starts at 8:00! This promises to be a      fun evening in an intimate house, please join us!
     Please note: all proceeds from this event are being          
     donated by Bounding Main, Bantry Bay and The     
     Coffee House to the Red Cross for the victims of     
     Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. 

     "Lost at Sea" is due out in December of 2005.

October 20, 2005 -
No further updates for the next few days. We at Modern Bard are busy preparing to get out of the way of Hurricane Wilma. Updates will resume as soon as we know we're in the clear.

Modern Bard now has listings for 400 artists and has 1,004 listed recordings! The honor of being our 400th artist goes to "Gaita". Their CD, "Eschewynge of Ydlenesse", is a collection of period dance music and comes with a booklet giving instructions on eight period dances.

Our October update continues and after countless hours of research and webcrawling, Modern Bard has added our one thousandth recording! Quite a landmark as we climb towards our next one...the 400 artists mark.

The honor of being #1000 goes to the Musician's Guild of Loch Salann of the SCA. Their CD, "Music for Dancing Fools" is available for $5 + $3 S&H and is a fundraiser for the SCA Kingdom of Artemisia.

As relief efforts continue Modern Bard, in conjunction with Marc Gunn of Brobdinagian Bards, announce the upcoming release of a compilation CD to benefit the Red Cross. Artists who have volunteered tracks for the forthcoming CD include Seelie Court, Fugli, Howl-O, the Bilge Pumps, Rillian and the Doxie Chicks, Three Quarter Ale, Marooned, Brobdinagian Bards, the Cheshire Singers, and more! Watch here for the latest news on this forthcoming project.

We're a bit behind on reviews here, so bear with us. Things have been rather hectic around here (including preparing for Marooned's last show of the year) but we'll catch up in short order.

Modern Bard will soon be moving to our own dedicated domain ModernBard.org, as soon as we can get everything transferred over. Of course, this might take a bit of time, because first the site has to get caught up.
