More sad news has reached us at Modern Bard. Leigh Anne Hussey, entertainer and writer of the Red Queen, passed away on May 16th in a traffic accident. Her loss comes as a shock to the community, many of who are just now learning of her passing. Leigh Anne will be remembered through her music, which lives on. Some few copies of the recordings released by groups that included Leigh Anne ("Annwyn" & "Nuit") are still available, but are scarce.

As we continue to finish catching up on our backlog we finally are able to start getting some reviews posted. Who ever would have known that there was SO much music? New artist info is still coming in, and with each new artist comes information on at least one album not in our archives, sometimes as many as six!

We are pleased to announce our latest Featured Artists, Queen's Gambit. Queen's Gambit have released 3 (and a half) albums of their own and have graciously donated tracks to several compilation CDs including Circle, the hurricane relief CD that was released at the beginning of the year. These are great folks and we're pleased to put them in august company.

We'd also like to take a moment to point people towards the Renaissance Festival Music Podcast, a wonderful service provided by Marc Gunn of Brobdingnagian Bards. Every week his podcast highlights music by artists who are performing that weekend, allowing acts to advertise themselves the best way possible, by being heard.

Modern Bard went "live" one year ago at 11:28am. How far we've come in that single year. We've moved to our dedicated domain and we've added 158 artists and 400 albums to our listings since that time. We've helped some folks land gigs and we've even brought folks together to raise money for the Red Cross Hurricane Relief effort. What does the next year bring? We're looking forward to finding out.
